Rust appeals to the toughness you never think you had. It is a survival game, where you need to struggle with cold, hunger and thirst, waking up naked on the unknown island, with a rock as a tool. Since it is a multiplayer game, there are other players that want to kill you for your stuff. You have to kill them first or team up to survive in a hostile environment, after downloading Rust.

Graphics are realistic enough to feel the horror of waking up in the middle of nowhere and estimate the sharpness of wild animals’ teeth. There are some really horrible pictures of multiple killings, so you probably will want it less realistic. Don’t forget to cover yourself before going public.

There are varied locations you can travel, each of them thought out and well detailed. Enjoy bright colors around. Amazing landscapes with beautiful flowers under your feet make you forget about everything and look around for a couple of seconds. That will be your last moment in the game since the danger is always behind you.

Rust mixed the brutality of STALKER, Minecraft, and DayZ and created a brave new world of terror with no rules. You need to dive deeper inside and rediscover primal instincts you did not suspect you have. Here on the island, everything can kill you and later rob your body. So better kill first.

You are waking up on the island with no tools. You need to use the rock to make a fire or kill animals and take their skin and meat. Cook the meat, save the skin. Start to build a shelter. Attack animals and rob other players for armor, food and other stuff.

This game does not offer a lot to the fans of exploration, crafting something or beautiful combat scenes. It is rough and sometimes weird, but that is what makes it so fun. Watch your rivals are running naked from an angry pig but make sure there is no one hunting you with a spear.

Video Game Controls

Game’s main gap is the locked options for picking or customizing your character. The game gives you one randomly, which of course is interesting if you are replaying it. No changes of race, look or gender. You can only make progress with your skills during the game, and find blueprints making your life less miserable. But now you have to protect your stuff even harder.

Remember, everything in the game can kill you. Even your allies can smash your head. Animals are very dangerous, and you have to be quicker than them. Be aware of radiation which will kill you before you even notice, attracting you by food, gear, and the best loot in the area. Avoid such places without a special protective suit.

Rust is pushing you to progress. However, you may waste your next life in the game just to explore the island and probably receive the answers there. Pick different servers, depending on what you currently up to. The fighting mood is better to show on the populated servers with 400 other gamers.
