Kotor Full Game Mod Mac
Are you a Mac gamer and a Star Wars fan? If you are, I’m afraid 2019 will be a tough year for you.
MacOS has never been the place to be for serious Star Wars fans. After all, the company in charge of Star Wars games, EA, is notorious for having no love for the Mac platform (when was the last time we saw an EA game on Mac?).
But we knew that already. 2019 will be a tough year because it’s the year the majority of Star Wars games on Mac were discontinued.
Sep 28, 2019 Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic 2 was released for Mac on July 21, 2015. But that wasn’t just a Mac release 10 years too late, it was the release of a remastered version of the game. With that release, Aspyr made an already great game even better. About This Game Five years after the events from the award winning Star Wars® Knights of the Old Republic™, the Sith Lords have hunted the Jedi to the edge of extinction and are on the verge of crushing the Old Republic. With the Jedi Order in ruin, the Republic’s only hope is a lone Jedi struggling to reconnect with the Force.
The good news? Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are here to stay.
All the Star Wars Mac games you can no longer play…
Kotor Face Mod
The Force used to be strong on Mac. In fact, several Star Wars games had an official Mac version, until recently… Indeed, with Apple’s decision to stop supporting 32-bit apps, most of the great Star Wars game available on Mac will no longer work on Catalina, the newest macOS version.
On top of that, Aspyr Media, the company in charge of most Star Wars Mac games, officially announced that a large part of their back catalog will be discontinued.
A once a great Star Wars choice, no longer available for Mac…
Unfortunately, the list of discontinued games includes most of their Star Wars games:
- Star Wars: Empire at War
- Star Wars: Jedi Academy
- Star Wars: Jedi Outcast
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
That leaves us with Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic 2 as the only remaining Star Wars games from Aspyr officially supported on macOS Catalina and beyond.

Older choices for retro gamers
Not everything is bad news. If we take a look at GOG’s catalog of older games, they still offer a few Star Wars games for Mac:
Granted, these are old-school games that only retro gamers will appreciate, but it’s still good to have options. For the rest of us, one of the most critically-acclaimed Star Wars ever released remains at our disposal.
Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic 2 on Mac
KOTOR 2: The Sith Lords is the sequel to the cult classic Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. In KOTOR 2, you take control of an exile who rediscovers her connection to the Force.
As with any other RPG, you decide how your character looks like, but through certain dialogue options and decisions, you can also affect your character’s alignment with the Force. Acts of kindness and nobility reflect the light side, while cruel or vile, the dark side.
Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic 2 was released for Mac on July 21, 2015. But that wasn’t just a Mac release 10 years too late, it was the release of a remastered version of the game.
With that release, Aspyr made an already great game even better:
The update included the following:
- 37 achievements to be earned through gameplay
- Steam Cloud saves
- Native widescreen resolution support
- Resolution support up to 4K and 5K
- Support for controllers, including Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, and Playstation 4, along with several others
- Steam Workshop support! We proudly worked with the Restored Content Mod Team to have their famous TSLRCM up on launch day
And while all those features are excellent additions, the Restored Content Mod is probably the best one. As explained by Kotaku:
The Restored Content Mod is a years-spanning project that aims to return the game to its proper form—rather than the sloppy, stitched together version that was originally released due to publisher pressure and time constraints.
The mod adds a handful of endings and the infamous HK Factory and fixes hundreds of bugs.
If for some reason, you missed this excellent RPG 15 years ago, this is the best time to give it a shot.
Star Wars: KOTOR 2 Mac requirements
These are the game’s minimum system requirements are the following:
- 2.2 GHz CPU Speed

To learn more about the game, head over to Aspyr’s dedicated FAQ page.
We usually run extensive benchmark tests on several machines to help you figure out whether your Mac can run it or not. KOTOR 2 is a 15-year old game that should run on most Macs out there.
For that reason, we simply recommend you make sure your Mac meets the modest system requirements above.

Heya everyone,
I'm not sure if it was the good section to do this, but I didn't see any other so here I am. As you can see I'm not a runner of this game, not yet, but I have played countless hours on KotOR and I had the displeasure of trying to make it work on Windows 10. Now there are already guides on the internet, but I figured a guide here would be cool for people trying to begin the speedrun and not wanting to revert to windows 7 for one game. So here it comes, ladies and gentlemen, easy fixes for KotOR on the bizarre 10th window.
Step 1:
Now first thing you need to understand is that KotOR is old. We are talking about a game released in 2003,that was made for Windows XP at the time. So of course there are gonna be problems for next generations of OS. One of the biggest problems you can and will encounter is your game crashing at the very beginning, on the Lucas Art logo. This is an easy fix, you only have to things to do:
1. Go to your swkotor/movies (or Star Wars - KotOR/movies if you have the GOG version)folder, and locate these 3 files: biologo.bik, leclogo.bik and legal.bik. Rename them by changing the extension to .bik.old, and the files won't be run by the game anymore. No more crashes at start anymore, yayy!
2. Now if it doesn't entirely work, you may want to run the swconfig program present in the swkotor, and check the Disable Movies. Of what I remember this should only disable intro movies, not the others, but I could be wrong on that and it could be forbidden in speedruns, so I will ask someone of the community on that. While you are in this program by the way, check that V-Sync is enabled, it's really important to play the game properly.
Step 2:
Now another problem you may encounter is your game crashing on any single cinematic, or movie, however you want to call it. Why? Because when the game launches a movie, it launches a video file and in a way creates a second window to the game. When it wants to come back however, Windows 10 doesn't follow and KotOR will end up crashing. To fix that you will need to put your game in windowed mode. It's not optimal depending on your pc or laptop but it's the best available choice. To do so, you will need 2 steps again:
1. Go into the root folder of the game and open swkotor.ini with a program like NotePad or WordPad. Scroll down to [Graphics Options] and find the option Fullscreen=1. Switch it to 0, but no, it's not over, there is more!
2. Then under the [Graphics Options] section, add this line: AllowWindowedMode=1, save, and when you next launch the game, it should be in Windowed mode, and you won't crash on every movie.
3. Lastly, if the game doesn't automatically launch in Windowed mode, you will just have to hit Alt+Enter and it will switch without crashing.
Now you've done it, you have dodged 90% of the crashes you could encounter with KotOR on Windows 10. If you encounter other problems, some really detailed and complete guides are up on the Internet to help you, but that's the base of it.
Hope you enjoyed the guide,
Strife
